SODI e.V.: English: 100,000 signatures for justice and compensation for Victims of Agent Orange in Vietnam!

SODI supports the signature-campaign on behalf of the victims of Agent Orange to receive adequate compensation.

Agent Orange is a highy toxic herbicide. The chemical is harmful to the state of health as it contains toxic Dioxine (TCDD). 3-4 grams of Agent Orange taken orally are deadly to humans.

It was used by the US Air Force in the Vietnam War (1960-1975) between 961 and 1971 in Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia to destroy the forests, rice fields and crops. The chemical was supplied by 36 US companies, among them Monsanto, Dow Chemical, Hercules, Uniroyal Chemical, Thompson, Diamond Alkali and Diamond Shamrock.

Delivering 20,000 signatures on 10^th August 2009

On the 10th August 2009, the international day for victims of Agent Orange, 20,000 signatures were handed over by SODI and Sebastian Krumbiegel (singer in the band ‘Die Prinzen’) to Gesine Lötzsch (MdB) and Stefan Liebich (MdA) n front of the Brandenburger Tor.
